April 20th 2004 The Kosice Self-Governing Region (KSR) and Southbohemian Region by signature of Memorandum of cooperation today became partner regions. Memorandum was signed at the premises of Liaison office of the Kosice Self-Governing Region in Brussels by president of KSR Rudolf Bauer and president of Southbohemian region Jan Zahradnik. KSR and Southbohemian region in document declared mutual support, targetted mainly on development of cooperation of citizens, citizens and public organizations, municipalities and regions in unified Europe, with objective to contribute to economic, social and cultural development of the regions of both partners. Partners agreed that they would support and develop mutual contacts in all fields, which belong to their competences. KSR and Southbohemian region would be partners also in promotion of mutual knowledge of their regions, their historical and natural heritage, as well as in development of mutual cultural contacts. Mutually they would supported cooperation of schools, youth organizations and young people.
